Father's day camping.

Father's day weekend -- Dominic got the say in plans - so camping we went!  We both grew up camping, love it, and were SO excited to take Kayden for the first time!!  She dove right in, and was so glad to be out where she could run around and pretty much anything goes.

We got right to work and put up our tent.  We bought this tent for this trip, and were cracking up at the size .. for just the 3 of us.  *BUT* we can always grow into it, right?? ;)

Right before this weekend we got a remote for the camera.  We were so excited to set up the tripod and put it to work -- hahahahaha.  I die at these pictures.  Our attempts at getting a family pictures together.  Hahaha!

Kayden was a crack up trying to get into and out of the tent.  The little doorway was just barrrrely a little too tall, and she really had to put effort in, to get her legs over the opening =D so cute!

Want to know a story?  Thought so.  The picture above kind of shows the amount of room we had in our tent.  We brought her pack and play thinking that would be the best bet for her to sleep in, and thought we had brought a queen blow up mattress for us.  Turns out - we brought a twin.  Ok .. we can deal with that.  We soon realized, we didn't bring a single blanket or pillow for us.  Ok .. we can deal with that.  We got our towels and a picnic blanket we had with us, and made the best little bed we could.  Kayden went to sleep in her pack and play, cozied up with plenty of child-size blankies ... that was until about midnight.  When it was nice and dark .. she woke up and realized she was terrified and had no idea where she was.  (Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure we forgot a flashlight too, so we were using our crappy phone light).  We got her into our bed, and yes, I must admit - we took the liberty of sharing her pillows and blankets .. but this picture may show you just how much room she shared with us.  And an air mattress?!  I mean com'n -- the thing sinks and shifts all night - I'm sure she was nice and inflated and comfy though ;)

Now we know for our next checklist:  pillows, blackest, flashlight.  completely necessary hahaha!  Oh, and we can't forget a bigger mattress ;)
