Whew. We made it to Florida (and back already, haha). We weren't sure we would. Especially all in one piece. We planned, and brainstormed, and talked, and thought, and imagined for what seemed like decades. Let me first just say this, if you have never traveled with a child; imagine what you pack. You. You carry it, you pack it. You got it. You have two hands, you probably brought 1-2 bags. You got it. You got it. ..... Now add a child. You would think add one bag right? Wrong. They can share a bag with you? Ohhhhh noo. One would think. You have those 1-2 bags by the door waiting for you, and your vacation. Now add 926 bags. Lol. But serrrrrriouslykinda!!! SOO much stuff. Not only did we need alllllll the stuff for the week, but we needed stuff to actually keep her happy during the airport/flight! And babies need a lot. Kayden is the type of baby that moves on quickly lol. So a million snacks and a million toys, would hopefully be suffice.
So after getting everything packed into 2 large bags, 2 carry on bags, a camera bag, a diaper bag, a pack&play (her bed), and her carseat all into the car, and out of the car, into the parking shuttle, and out of the parking shuttle, we were finally at the airport. At the albuquerque airport, but the airport! Haha. Children doesn't get a discounted seat, so on our lap it was. We asked if they would possibly have room for a carseat, "nope, no way". So on we went on this crazy journey lol. Oh yeah, and I forgot that we also were bringing the stroller. Which half way saved our lives, in helping carry stuff through the airport and parks, etc. And half way made things even crazier, with a huge stroller to get through security, and a huge stroller to fit in the back with all our luggage. But, probably more life saver than damper!
We got through security, with no more than 100 looks of "Oh God, please don't let me be behind that family and their pile of crap!" But whatever, what could we do?! Lol. (And may I add, that we were very organized still at this point lol, we had everything packed up and knew where it was and where it went.)
Made it on the plane and miraculously there was juuuust enough room in-between our legs for Kayden to stand up, so that helped a bit. That and the new airplane toys ;-D
We made it through Florida airport & to the resort. We were waiting on Steve, Annette, Brianna & Matthew, who were driving the trip but had taken a wrong turn and made their trip hours longer, lol whopsie, so we explored the land a bit ;-). Every.Single.Swamp that we drove by, Dominic would say "I bet there's a gator in there!" So we searched and searched all week long!
Once we finally made it into our home for the week, Kayden had a blast helping, which turned into her riding on it and me pushing her through a parade while she waved to all the watchers ;-).
The next day is was pool time!
The poor girl got the WORST wedgie I've seen in my life!!! But she didn't care! Hahaha, omg we laughed and laughed and she laughed and kept driving her little car. We let her stay like that for long enough for some pictures, but I had to help the poor little baby out lol. World's largest wedgie, no doubt!
That night Steve did the hot wing challenge. Everyone at the restaurant was impressed with how fast he was!! They had 12 minutes for 12 hot wings, or something to the sort, and they gave him 13 accidentally (so they say ;-p) and he ate them all in like 3 minutes. We laughed that he could have drank his beer and then had the last one if he wanted! Crazy guy!
